A friend and I were just discussing charm packs and layer cakes and I wondered what you would call a 7 1/2 pack. After some colorfull suggestion she came up with "Tea Cake". So here's the skinny:

    5" squares = charm pack
    10" squares = layer cake

    and

    7 1/2" squares = tea cake.

How's that for changing the vernacular?

made me remember I haven't eaten lunch and it's 2:30. Way too much time at the Board!

I was President of the SooNipi Guild in NH for 6 years and when I retired members made this block in red and white for me.
It's a partial scrap - the reds came from my stash, the white is constant throughout. I need to make 2 or 3 more for a queen size. Taking to my summer 7 day quilt retreat to DO IT.
