Stupid question about Bailey Home Quilter 13/15
This is probably a stupid question but can I buy a machine like the Bailey Home Quilter 13 or 15 and just use it to quilt on or do I have to have a frame for it?

Not a stupid question. You can't use it to piece as there are no feed dogs, but what I think what you are looking for is a sit down quilter. Basically it's a mid-arm machine set in a table. You would use it like your domestic machine to free motion quilt, so the quilt moves, not the machine. Don't know if Bailey has a sit down table or not. Do a search on sit down quilters. There are lots of posts about this.

Here are a couple. Call Bailey Sewing Center. The owner, Chuck, has been very helpful when my husband has called. He can tell you if it can be fitted to a table.

When you first get a Bailey they recommend that you set it on a table and use it that way for a while before putting it on a frame. It works like that but it isn't a smooth transition from table to plate. Setting it in a customized table would be a great solution.
