Your avatar is the very first quilt "thingy" I ever made!
I went into an advanced quilting class because they didn't have a beginners class and that is what we did! Wow! That picture brought up nice memories of the past! Hi from New York, USA

Not my idea, I saw someone here on this very board doing it that way! I thought it was a great idea too.

Finally your tagline and screen name make me giggle. Frank Zappa was quite the songwriter wasn't he?
Thanks for the compliment and yes you are right about Zappa. My DD named her cat Valley Girl. My nickname in school was eskimo, hence the choice of screen name and tag.

The one on the right is Exploding Star. The other one just a 4 patch made of 4.5'' scraps and leftover charms with some circles randomly appliquéd to jazz it up a bit.

I did stitch in the ditch on the Exploding Star and the other one Stitch in the ditch around the blocks and circles, I then used the freezer paper templates I used for the circle appliqué and placed them randomly and stitched around those. In the border I did some FMQ. I think I took pictures of the Asian one.

Leah Day's designs on the borders
