Default Themes for "Thank You Quilts"

We moved a few months ago to a beautiful, mountain property. Our new neighbors have been so nice and helpful to us, bringing us firewood, gifts, etc. and I haven't been able to repay them for all of their good deeds. She is a retired postmaster and he's a retired logger. I was thinking of making them each a lap quilt as a gift...Hers a postage stamp design and his a log cabin theme. However, both of these designs are quite involved. I may never get them finished. Any other ideas on themes/designs? I'd like to get them done before next winter.

Why not do something you already know how to do easily and well? Quilts don't have to be thematic. You could match colors to their home where the quilts will reside.

I may have just found the answer to half of my question. I found the MAGICAL FOREST BLOCK SWAP. I think it may be the perfect thing for his quilt. I still need ideas for her.

Does she have any hobbies in her retirement?

D9P is a really simple quilt to do. Works up quickly.

Maybe you could make quilts you know how to do and that are easy but use fabric that relates to the theme you want the quilts to have?
