The quilt name is TWIN SISTERS on page 102 in EB book "Quilts thru the Seasons". The show about this pattern was recently shown again on my local PBS station. It is a sort of a pinwheel made from strips. You are able to make twin blocks (positive and negative reversed) from the strip.

Thanks everyone. I think theses two will work out great. I do plan to tell her about the blocks, I think ( hope) it will make it more special. Her favorite color is purple so that is the color it will be. Thanks again.

This is a beautiful example of fabric placement. I can hardly believe they are both the same block. Thanks for taking the time to make these examples and show us. Jeanne

In looking at examples of this block I found a version using only 2 colors, and I liked it. So that is how I did my test block .

Sister's choice is a 5 patch block.
