I saw a place online (can't remember where) the guy buys them, rebuilds and paints them all different metalic colors...reds, purples, blues, etc. Might be this same guy. I remember thinkiing who would pay that price for those machines? Guess someone who has more $$ than they know what to do with and doesn't even sew...just wanted a conversation piece in their home...

Candy apple red is very hard on the eyes to me. He does not list all the attachments, nor does he rate it 1-10 like the antique people do. The black carrying case is very simple to restore. Libber Yup, I have a 222K.

I was reading on ebay the other day where someone was asking $1600.00 for a black featherweight and under the description it said: my grandmother doesn't know what kind of gold mine that she is sitting on. Guess what? No one bid on it.... that was way to much to ask for it.

I don't know about the black one, but the little red one has been repainted, and possibly purchased from someplace like Desk Dave's.com where they sell them for such prices. Check out his prices.

No, there were no original red 221's, nor purple, nor pink.
