Hi to all of you,
There are some things that I have learned. Earlier this year, I picked up some flannel. Found a great sale, and found some sports flannels I thought my boys would like. Also around the same time (may have been same place, I don't remember) I picked up some plain flannel to use in the quilts. Well, when I bought these, I did not have a pattern picked out. Mistake. Why? Because I have started making the quilts and I have run short on fabric. I can not match the flannel, at the Hancock's or JoAnn's that are near me, so I tried a lqs. Could not find the exact match, but did find one that will work.
What I have learned is that when I buy fabric, at least have a pattern in mind, or make a note of where I got the fabric from. It is a good flannel and I am thinking it all came from a store that is about 45-60 miles away, but I don't get down there a whole lot.
Anyway, with a bit of creativeness, I have made it work.
My daughter lives in another county in the state, and they have the wide (90") backing that I like, and she is going to bring some up for me on Sunday. Then I can hopefully have quilts under the tree for Christmas. The one for hubby and I was started at least a year ago. I think I am fine on that fabric.
It sure is funny the lesson that we learn over time.
