Howdy y'all :c)

Recently I posted a picture of the "Apples For the Teacher" quilt I made for my daughter's teacher. She loaned it to me long enough for me to enter it in the county fair, and I got third place!!! I just started quilting 10 months ago, and didn't sew at all before then, so I figure 3rd place is pretty darn good! I'm SOOOOOOOOO excited!!!!!!!!!!!! :c) So should I go whole hog and enter it in the state fair? Whaddya think?

I'm on the right, and the woman who taught me to quilt is on the left. :c)

Congrats on your ribbon! That is awesome, especially as a newbie. Am also curious about the squares that look like pages?

Thank you! :c) The red and white blocks are drawings of children, and have the "Days of the Week Children" poem in them. The top one says, "Monday's child is full of grace", the next one is "Tuesday's child is fair of face". The funny thing is, I didn't know when I made the quilt that my daughter's teacher had a pre-scheduled C-section with her daughter, and she used that poem to decide which day of the week her daughter would be born on. So it turned out perfect that I found that fabric! :c)
