Thanks for you post. I've donated probably 20 to fire victims in our state of California this year. There's been many major fires here. I'm sure more are needed.

I only donate quilts to foster kids in the county I live in. My Daughter and I have been doing this for 5-6 years. We never know who gets one nor how they are liked. I donated quilts to a local food pantry never heard any more about them.

I am sure whomever donated quilts would appreciate knowing the were used and enjoyed.

Cfuzzy, my heart goes out to you in your loss. I am so sorry! We had a major house fire many years ago and were out of our home for months. I know the trauma of having your life turned upside down. Thank you for your kind remarks regarding the quilts. Those of us who make quilts for charity are so encouraged to know they really do comfort others.

Most of the quilts I make are for charity... local children's shelters affiliated with the Baptist church in my town, or the local hospital's organ transplant unit. It means a lot to hear how well the donated quilts are received!

I’m working on quilts to send to some of my family in Oregon who lost their home and all their belongings in the recent fires there. The evacuation order was “Get Out Now” and they fled with only the clothes on their backs. I have 5 quilts ready to go but need to make a 6th for the little boy since most of what I have are more appropriate for girls.

Let us know when it is time to rebuild your stash. Maybe some of our guilds would like to help burned-out quilters.

((((Cfuzzy)))) I'm so sorry for your loss. It's devastating. Hopefully, the quilts will take you and your family on to a new life and home. Thanks so much for sharing your quilt experience. We make them and send them out to the world, not knowing where they are going and who's life they will touch. I'm glad to know that they are doing some good.

How do I post images from my computer? I thought I might post photos of the sweet quilts we received.

I was happy to discover that one of the quilts we got listed the name of the woman who pieced and
quilted one of the quilts and she's the owner of a quilt store. So I was able to email her and thank
her for the beautiful quilt she had made and I got a return email from her saying how much she
appreciated hearing that. I thought I'd post images of the 3 quilts we got in case one of them might
have come from someone here and you might enjoy seeing them but can't quite figure that out.

I'm sorry for your loss. I, too, can not imagine how horrific that must be.

I know a lot of people have trouble posting pictures and especially since the software was changed at the beginning of the year.

In order to post pictures on Quilting Board, you will probably need to reduce or compress the picture to a file size that is smaller than 2MB. How to post images can be found at https://www.quiltingboard.com/attach...020-01-17-.pdf
Don't forget to scroll over to the far right to find and click on the "Upload" button.

I have found that only the big red "Reply" button or "Quote" work to give me the paper clip icon to work for adding pictures.

Actually, recently, I had some trouble posting pictures that the file size was under 2MB, but still couldn't get them to post. I don't remember if I resized or compressed them. I use "Microsoft Office Picture Manager" on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I can do either resized or compressed when I chose to "Edit Picture"

i make charity quilts and sometimes wondered about what happens to the ones that go to children in hospital. No more! Years ago my physical therapist said her 7 year old son would not sleep without the blanket he received when he was 4. I have been makeingdonation quilts exclusively since she told me that!
