Default Those wonderful empty tissue boxes

I use cone thread on a stand next to my sewing machine. After I make binding for a quilt, I roll it onto an empty cone and put it on the thread stand to sew it on my quilt.

I use mine to put my little pieces of thread or scraps too little to save. Keep it by my machine and then can throw it out when I'm done. Much better than trying to hit a wastebasket each time-saves the floor from all the threads!

You Ladies are so cleaver. I use the boxes as trash bags. They grab the threads off your fingers. You know the ones that hang on and your shacking your hand to get the little clingers off.

I use my empty tissue boxes like a garbage can next to my sewing machine - they work great to keep those pesky threads that are clipped out of the way and off the carpet

Another good use for empty tissue boxes is to carefully open one side (of the square boxes-these are the 3" wide and about 5" tall kind), take a roll of toilet tissue and work it in your hands until you can get the cardboard center out, then find the end of the tissue roll down in the center and pull it through the top of the tissue box. Then use clear tape and tape the opening shut. We call these our "retirement" tissues. Goes a lot further than a box of tissue.

Love the idea and will use it. Do jelly rolls fit also?
