Thread/FMQ troubles

I make sure I have the same weight in top and bottom - also rethread from start to finish including a different bobbin. Sometimes these mechanical marvels can stress a person to the limit. I was having some major problems with my Bernina 180 and finally took it in. The timing was off and I'd not sewed very much since a servicing. Go figure!! So as a last resort take it in to be serviced. Hope you have bood luck with all the tips.

First about thread, I've learned that Coats & Clark thread shreads very easily so I try to use a better quality thread.
` For needles, I am now using stronger needles & quilt needles. Seemed to fix my prob. I am so grateful for the knowledge from this grp.

i had some poly covered poly that did that. it was Coats and Clark and i thought it was cotton. I put a larger eye needle and still a mess. then changed to cotton thread and no more troubles.

check this: if when your thread comes off the END of the spool and it twist, then the thread needs to come off the spool sideways.you can tape a dowel stick to the top of ypur machine to feed sideways. also put sewer's aid on the thread.

When this happens to me its either the thread has slipped out of the Take Up Arm or else it came out of the slit in your bobbin case. I usually just re-thread both top and bottom --and the hand book says this happens if your sewing to fast or to slow ?? Hope this helps

sometimes with the Jamone it willslip out of all the threading grooves....so just unthread and rethread.
sometimes its a bad spool of thread...did you try another spool on something to check the thread out?
