I purchased (2) 3 of 1 yard quilt kits at the Mid-Atlantic show. When you buy a kit ($23) you also got to pick one of their patterns. The name of the company is fabric café. There's like 25 different 3 of 1 yard quilt patterns. Here's the link so you can view the different patterns and pick the one you like.

Rail fence is the 1st thing that came to my mind. There's so many ways to arrange the squares.

I would suggest the Ohio Star----When my granddaughter was six she wanted a quilt with ballerina's and Scooby Doo--what a combination---I made Ohio Stars with Scooby and ballerinas in center blocks--looked great and she was happy--Leah will be 18 this month and still has this quilt---she keeps it on display in her room---I have made her many other quilts that she loves but she won't put away this one

I agree. A disappearing 9 patch will look great. Put the kitten fabric in the four outer corners and the darkest of the blenders in the center. I made a large crib quilt like this in only a weekend and it looked great--except I use a small green plaid instead of kittens since it was for a boy.

I agree with Terry Quilter that Warm Wishes would be a good choice, or even a 9-patch alternating with a snowball block or even just a square of the kitten fabric. Either one is fairly quick and easy to make.

I have made Warm Wishes with 3 fabrics. It looked pretty good. I just made the outer two fabrics on the rail fence part the same fabric. Wish I had a picture...wait, maybe I do. Yup, found it. See if this might work for you... oops, forgot about the inner red border I put on it. Guess that makes it four fabrics...
