Wow, what a great tip. I just bought some of that and put it under the wedge my husband built out of wood under my machine (it was walking right across the table)....Nice that there is another use for it in my quilting room....Thanks.

I recently read a tip about using two clean kitchen sponges, one in each hand. I have not tried it yet. Anyone out there that has either heard of or tried it?

I am a real beginner with free motion quilting, still in the practice phase. I have been watching Leah Day's, 365 days videos, on her site. They have been very helpful for me.

I use a pair of gardening gloves, they are cotton with the black rubber bumps on them. No sweating, and I am able to change bobbins and rethread my machine when needed. I got them at the end of the summer at a Christmas Tree Shop when they were marked down at 2 pair for a dollar. Best deal I ever made.

Great tip. It's nice when you can use something you have in the house instead of having to buy special items in order to assist with what you want to do.

Thanks for the tip. I'm going to give it a try.

Ditto! I've bought the Fons & Porter gloves for FMQ and I have some of that shelf liner ... I'll sure try that next time. Thanks for the tip, Justok.

Good idea of using instead of a glove. I have tried to use it for my presser foot , but it still moves all around! I am thinking of getting one of those contraptions used for the presser foot on the floor! Unless someone has a better idea!

Gloves get in the way when you need to rethread or cut but this gives me the freedom to do both. Use non-slip shelf liner, cut a piece to fit your hand and off you go. Give it a try it really works
I love this idea. You must have heard me mumbling last week, as I had to keep taking my gloves off to trim threads, etc. I have several rolls of this close at hand. Thank you for sharing!
