I do this and THEN enter the data on my local library's website and request the book for free through interlibrary loan. Then I get to check out the WHOLE book for free before buying on Amazon.com. At $24-$29 bucks a book these days, I really gotta want it to buy it.

I do the Amazon and local library thing.

What I like about Amazon is all the people who review books. Many times the reviews will determine IF I purchase a book - new or used.
