Quilting is a journey, not a destination. Enjoy the trip!
Starch builds up, clean your iron regularly.
Spray 'Sizing' makes piecing easier.
Know when to stop taking requests and 'do it for you'.

And... When you really mess up, and I do, a bit of chocolate, and reading a few posts here helps put life back into perspective!

Newbie here also and I too thank you all for advice, guidance, offers of help and the pictures of all your beautiful creations plus the pattern names and sources if known. (I'm still having a little problem with the abbreviations PIF??? Play it forward? It just dawned on me.

Helps hold things flat, makes measuring more accurate, and if you want to stop stretch when working with bias edges, I use spray sizing instead. (Kind of 'glues' the threads together). Both wash out, so you can use lots, and if you get flakes, clean your iron sole plate, and wash the quilt when you finish.

I was recently told about using liquid bandage for this, since I have stubbed off fingers(thimbles don't ever fit. except leather ones for some things). Haven't tried it yet, but next binding, I will.

Do you recommend a particular starch? Do you dilute?
