The elementary school where my local nieces/nephew attend do a quilt in 4th grade each year. Last year my niece asked if I could come to class and help. It was great fun. They have a choice of making a pillow or a quilt. The adult helpers cut all the fabric and the kids hand sew their squares. If they opt for quilts, they are tied. Either next year or the year after I'm guessing I'll be there again with niece #2!
