    Kaye calls them 'Quarter Quilts'

I think these are also called bed runners. I found several -- including this free one:

My first thought when I saw the posting was all the fur babies mentioned on here. My pom likes to lay at my feet when I'm sewing, although he doesn't help press the pedal (thank goodness!). Of course, if I'm not at the machine and he's at my feet, he lays all over them...nice, furry feet warmer. lol

Haha, I was picturing a little mitten to go over my big toe for when I was sewing at the machine on a cold floor!

I recently purchased the book, Bed Runners: Using Precut Fabrics, published by House of White Birches. It has ten different patterns, using jelly rolls, layer cakes, fat quarters, etc, and they are beautiful. I don't remember where I bought it...somewhere online. It may be of interest to you!

This is what I was thinking as well....then put some sashings and a couple of borders around it.....
Make sure you post a pic when you decide and make it - we LOVE pics!

When I first saw them online, I thought they were made for one's beloved pet sleeping at the foot of the bed. What was I thinking???
