Our dealer makes the 1-year full-value offer, but you have to spend at least double on the 2nd machine what you spent on the first. So, if you spend $750 on your first machine, you have to buy a $1,500 machine or more to do the trade.

Make sure you test drive the heck out of whichever machine you plan to get.

My dealer has the same deal. If traded in within the the first year you get what you paid for the machine. I love my Pfaff.

This is what my one shop told me when I went back to trade up to a better machine. Unfortunately, when I bought the machine, the sales person only told me that I'd get full value within the first year but neglected to mention that I'd have to buy a machine twice the price of the original machine. :( I was not amused! The shop owner knows I'm a regular so we worked around that "little" problem.

I just got more than what I paid when I traded in my Janome for the Horizon. I guess it is like buying a new car, the more expensive the machine..the more you get for your old one.

Most of my local Viking and Bernina dealers are very good about trade-ins and will give full credit for up to one year.

My Babylock/Pfaff dealer, who has a monopoly on Babylock in my area, is terrible - I was offered a measly $400 trade-in on my four month old, $2,000 machine. Needless to say, I won't be buying from them again. Even Babylock corporate was surprised and suggested I try some dealers out of town.
