    I have packed a little White sewing machine in my checked baggage with no problem on American Airlines. I don't know of anything in a sewing machine that is against TSA regulations but the rules could change tomorrow. If it fits under the seat in front of you or the overhead cabins--it shouldn't be a problem. Paying the extra fee if you're flying an airline with very restrictive carry-on rules &/or outrages charged bag fees is going to be a bigger concern IMHO.

    I knew I could count on you all! I was planning that she would be my only carry-on other than my purse. She is in her box and weighs about 16#. I read that one can purchase special handling for such things as guitars;maybe I could try that. The thought of her tumbling about with suitcases is nightmarish!
