Hi everyone, I am a newbie here. I am a novice quilter ( I mean I have done maybe 4 quilts) very basic!! Anyway, I have kinda got the quilting bug and want to do some quilting. I got an e-mail this morning about a program called "Triangle Magic" does anyone have this program? Is it something that would help me with making triangles? I was going to purchase the "Quarter " Ruler" I think that is what it is called, but after seeing this e-mail, I thought that this just might be a better way to go. Thank you for any help that you can offer on this. Here is the link in case anyone is interested: http://www.quiltpro.com/page/Triangl..._half_mainpage

Check out Triangulations software before you buy.

Personally I find it hard to keep the fabric and paper together accurately to make the 1/2 square triangles all the same size. If you go this route this would be the best way because it is a software program that you can use over and over. The product 'Thangles' is something you have to keep buying to use (which is the same concept).

I also like triangulations software...only print off what I want when I want it so don't have to have lots of Thangles, etc sitting around waiting for me to do the same size triangle.

It's really not that hard to make your own half square triangles, which is what I do, one, it's easy but secondly, I'm too cheap to pay for it. LOL

There are a few tutorials on here for easy ways to make half square triangles... your should check them out before you go buying things that you may not need. Do a search for HST tutorials. I think you will be pleased.

I have made my own using lightweight tearaway stabilizer. I draw out the pattern on my computer and print it out on the stabilizer that I've cut to fit my printer. I even print it using my laserprinter and it has never smudged or rubbed off onto other fabric.
