Marden's in Sanford has fabric doesn't it? It'd be closer than Lewiston.

[quote=sdparent]Worth the drive would be a trip to Lewiston to Marden's you can hit the turnpike and be there in 1/2 hour or so.

What is Marden's--a dept store of some kind? I am not familiar with it but when I lived in Maine I dated someone with the same last name. Just curious about the store.

Go to Marden's in Sanford, much closer than Lewiston and a larger selection of fabric. I didn't think that the Lewiston store had fabric, but I know the Sanford store definitely does have fabric. You can go to Kathie's Quilt Shoppe in Sanford Maine also. There is Knight's Quilt Shop in Cape Neddick Maine. Have fun, Maine is a beautiful state.

We went to Maine and I talked hubby in going home thru NH and we stopped at Keepsake Quilting. It was worth the trip and I would love to return. So if you're driving, take a peek at the map and maybe a side trip could be in your future.

Portland, ME to Center Harbor, NH (home of Keepsake Quilting) is anything but a direct route! As we say up in these parts, "you can't get theah from heah." ;)

Follow Rte. 25 all the way to Center Harbor, will take about 2 hours as it is approximately 75 miles, through lots of small towns with variable speed limits.

You're right, it's not direct, but it was worth figuring it out!
