Default Turn The Fabric Backwards

Many years ago someone said on television if you don't like the front of the fabric, turn it over. Not too long after that, I was making a wall hanging of a puppy and needed something for the beach sand. I took the fabric I'd used to make the doggie bones, and turned it over, and by gosh, it was perfect.

Have you ever used the other side?

As the saying goes, you paid for both sides so you get to choose which side you use. That definitely cut down on the scrap factor. Wonder how long you would of searched for mottled brown fabric?

I sure have!!! Just a couple of weeks ago I was using a fabric for back ground of a doggie quilt I am making for my granddaughter and ran out-back to the quilt shop and they were out of the shade I needed. Bought the next shade up and came home and turned it over and it matched pretty good. So I think we have to be inventive with our fabrics (right or wrong side!) BTW-your dog wall hanging is adorable.

I believe someone called it the other side. Maybe Nancy?

Yes, I have many years ago I needed a shade of mauve lighter than what I had already used in a quilt. Happened to look down at a scrap turned to the "wrong side" and it was the shade I needed.

i do it all the time... i was short of some lights to make some HSTs, so just used the backs... i'll bet you can't spot them. And the sky in my avatar quilt has some blues turned over

I do use the other side, sometimes by accident. Your doggie is cute and that fabric Is perfect for the sand.
