Not a good idea. 3 in 1 oil has extra additives that make it gum up over time. All my manuals specifically say to use sewing machine oil (and I have 26 machines).

For sure.I can attest to that theory by the number of seam rippers I have collected over the years. LOL

Oh! that happens to you too! I think we all have the same problem. I lost a pattern and I finally found it after 18 months.

My 1/4foot is missing so I bought a new one because I am lost without it!!! It still hasn't shown up . My friend always tells me to put it right back in the machine compartment but I get sewing and just lay it by the the machine. Will I ever learn? NO!!

I took the clock from the tea pot (do I need to post a photo, lol?) to my dh to put a battery in, and he lost the back...in the bedroom, and it is apparently GONE FOREVER. Never moved from the bed, but it is GONE. Period. I know you will have better luck, lol.

I have Vikings, no oil needed! But I lose everything else in the sewing room. Spend more time keeping my stuff where I can lay my hands on it than sewing some days.

Tell me about it - I inherited a bunch of tools and tool cabinets when my Dad passed. I lovingly organized them in my garage. Lined & labeled the draws. I did such a great job of telling my kids where everything was that when I went into the draw for the particular tool - they were never there -I had to clean their rooms to find it.
