Red face tying thread knot for hand quuilting

I know I saw on the board one time how to tie a knot for hand quilting and I can't seem to find it as I thought
    I printed it out.

    Thanks

I do what is called a tailor's knot. I wrap the thread around my finger a couple of times and twist it off, causing it gather against itself, and knot up.

I was taught to tie a single knot, so there's not a lump where you start. It works well.

I just tie a knot. I don't care if it's a 'quilter's knot' or not (sorry - had to do the knot/not thing). A knot, is a knot, is a knot in my book. As long as it's not bulky, it works for me.

I wrap the thread around the needle a few times and pull the needle through. It makes a nice knot.

To me the "quilter's knot" is just one of those tricks that makes someone look clever. A knot is a knot. I don't believe one kind is better than another. The impression is that unless you use the "official quilter's knot" the end of your thread will come loose.......this is @#$%&#!
