Unusual quilt display
#52
GailG I have heard of this before and love the idea. I am only 64 but have already told my daughter that I want my quilts displayed like this when my time comes. It is a great tribute to her skill and love of quilting and very, very personal.

I started quilting because of a funeral! I went to a funeral for the grandmother of a coworker. I was very touched by the quilts displayed all around the altar. I decided that instead of sewing just for items that were used for a brief period of time that I should create quilts that would be here after I am gone. Every time I finish a quilt I am reminded of that wonderful funeral and of the quilts that her grandchildren still have today.

I think that just great..and what a way to be remembered! I always dreaded the thought that my children would have to spend money on flowers..such a waste..they just die, and it costs hundreds..a quilt over the casket is the perfect send off!
