I cut 3"( sorry not 4") rows across the ends of my very long quilt until I had enough to go around it for a piano key border. I put a narrow border on first to divide it. I do not have a picture because it w
as a wedding gift but it changed the dimension back to a more square shape. I was very pleased with quilt and just did a meander all over.

When I made mine during a jelly roll race at my LQS that's how they turned out. We then squared them up and added a 2 1/2" boarder and a 5" boarder. My Dd liked it so much she asked if she could have it. Of course I couldn't refuse her. Yours looks great. I didn't even know you could do them horizontally. All the directions I've seen would make them be vertical stripes like yours.

I've made several, even a small one for a baby, and they all look different...You can either do the piecing like you did, or you can angle the piecing, either way if fine. I like the different looks you get from different rolls..
