I am looking at a used Elna 7300 an wonder how users feel about it and what might be a fair price for the machine?
Thanks for any input.

I have an Elna quilting (sewing) machine that is more than 20 years and still runs like a dream. I don't know a lot about the newer ones, but it's been great through a lot of projects, including some FMQ on it (until I got my HQ S16 sitdown for quilting)

You might be able to find some posts for that model on eBay, which would give you an idea of the FMV.

I love my Elna Pro Dream, but I think mine is a 7200, no actual number on the machine. It's about 12 years old and I bought it used from a dealer, it has a yearly check up, and haven't had any problems. I've quilted a good number of quilts on it, but not so many since I bought my 20" Bailey for doing the actual quilting.

I have this machine and love it. think the price when I bought it in 2010 or 2011 was $2000. I think it has been worth it. I have had not issues with it, I have do have maintenance on it about every 12-14 months because I make roughly 10-15 quilts a year and use this machine for all the piecing & binding. I've used it to make bags that have vinyl (no problems at all with going through that) & batting & zippers. I've used the fancy stitches on a tote that had the foam stabilizer (can't think of the name of this stuff),appliqued quilt label, used it to make a fancy flower girl dress, etc. I love this machine. I have no idea what the current price should be for a used one, so suggestion you look on eBay, etc to get a range. I love the 1/4" flanged foot, the built in walking attachment, etc. I will definitely replace with an Elna (made by Janome) when this one dies--that is if I last longer than it does!

not sure of exact size of harp--maybe 9 or 10"? Not huge. I've quilted a twin on it but nothing larger cause it kills my shoulders/neck to quilt on domestic. So I'm not a good judge on that.

Kimber56-The throat space I believe is almost 10", and yes, I have quilted 5 or 6 king sized quilts on it, not easily, but it can be done.
