This is a Scrappy Swoon quilt top made with 2.5" squares. It came out at about 40 x 40 when done.

Eleanor Burns has a nice star quilt block made with a 16 patch in the center. Check out quiltinaday.com.

I have seen a quilt made from this book and she used all greens in it and it was gorgeous!
Just ordered the same book based on your comments on Ebay for $5.19 and free shipping, thank you!

Not 2.5" but 1.5 cut, 1 inch finished. Burgoyne Surround, only rule, no two like colors could touch. I did use solids only. So it really depends on what you want to accomplish

I want to do an Arkansas CrossRoads quilt. http://qftb.blogspot.com/2012/08/ark...e-pattern.html

I always use 2.25 strips for binding, but I have shifted to 2.5" strips so I can cut any extra into squares for this pattern. I don't know when/if I will ever get it done, but I have always loved that pattern for scraps.

I am currently doing a granny square quilt using 2.5" squares. It's for a baby girl and I'm using bonnie and Camille's little ruby. Very easy and fun.

My sister made one I liked, though I don't have a picture. She made a bunch of 16 square blocks made of 2 1/2 inch squares. Those were all brightly colored scraps. Then she made the same size blocks of two colors...in this case chocolate brown and cream, and alternated the blocks with the 16 sqaure blocks. Unfortunately, I can't recall what the name of that block was. It wasn't one big four square block, but a similar design diagonally. It made a very striking quilt, one that had a secondary design and one that our guild is raffling off as part of our Sept. quilt show.

Sure which I had a picture to share, but it was a very good use of scraps.
