Can you use these on regular sewing and on quilts? I don't know how to use embroidery on my machine yet. I agree with Nursie76 because I do not know what kind of needles to choose due to lack of experience.

I've never used the gutterman so I don't know what weight it is. However, I do use the isacord and either one works well. Look at your needle you have now to see the size. I only use the BP for knits and towels etc.

Generally speaking, I use the 80/12 for most everything, even yenmet metallics.

I have a kenmore and bernina.

That is very helpful. Thank you. So if I were to embroider on a towel (hand towel, bath towel, terrycloth in general) I should use a ball point?
