Using WARM (not hot) water to prewash batiks

[TD="class: Content"]Here is an excerpt from Sew Batik's website describing Retayne. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they recommend using warm water....I always fear that hot water may cause some degree of fading.

Yet the retayne label does say to use HOT water!

What a great price at only $2 per bottle. WOW!

The info they give is not what is recommend by the manufacture of Retayne. The instructions on the bottle states use a mimium temperature of 140 degrees. That is hot water.

Sorry, but I'm sticking with the recommendations of the manufacturer of Retayne, not the seller of the fabric.

I washed Batik strips in straight hot water in my sink with Retayne several times til the water was clear. But when dried the colors were still clear and bright.
