Default Valentine log pile (aka Faux log cabin) quilt

My Valentine table topper. I used a log pile (faux log cabin) block and Riley Blake's From the Heart jelly roll.

Actually I got the block name wrong. Anita Hallock called it a Woodpile block in her "Sizzling Quilts from One Simple Block" book. Instead of piecing around a center square, the woodpile block is pieced in strips. I used five 2-1/2" wide strips, so the block measured 10-1/2".
Strip 1 is a single piece of fabric 10-1/2" in length.
    Strip 2 is two different pieces of fabric = a 2-1/2" length + a 8-1/2" length
    Strip 3 is two different pieces of fabric = a 4-1/2" length + a 6-1/2" length, etc.

    Got it. Thanks, Bonnie!
    That's a really nice variation.
