I was able to get 25 more 2-1/2 blocks finished yesterday, adding up to 260 blocks total now. This is for the Circa 1880 quilt. I need over 700 blocks so I have a ways to go. Today I have errands to run but I plan to do some more sewing tonight.

Better late than never...It's a holiday in Canada...Family Day...so I guess technically it's still the weekend.

I finished putting together my flying geese pattern. I was going to add an extra couple of borders because I mistakenly made too many piano keys, but they are just going into my "Orphan Blocks" drawer for another time. I bought a really cool, multi coloured check for the backing.

I also finished the "base" for an experimental wallhanging that I am doing which is based on a rug I saw once. I must say it doesn't look like much so far, but bear (bare?) with me and we'll see what happens. It's only fabric, right?

I am almost to the end of the quilting on my queen size batik that I began before Christmas. I'll be glad when that is off my mid-arm.

A couple of pics of the first two projects.

I ended up not getting near what I wanted to accomplish this VQW, I had a mild migraine creep in on me Friday night and spent all day Saturday just crocheting up some much needed pot holders in bed. Sunday, I spent much of the day in my quilting space, mostly reorganizing and rearranging and did some pieces on my hexies. Today, I'm hoping to do some more, fiance is down with his sinuses, so I'll have a nice, quiet rest of the day to myself. It's going to be icky and rainy all day, perfect day to put on some soft music and get lost in some quilting.

Everyone's quilts are so beautiful and creative, we've got a great bunch of quilters!

Your 9 patches look good, Christine!

Watson, good for you, with all those flying geese. They are my nemesis, so hats off to you!

Brat, hope you got rid of that migraine.

Congratulations to all who ended up getting things done! My weekend saw me in my sewing room only to:
    1) tear up my fabric bins in search of my lightweight fusible interfacing - *where* did it go!?!
    2) sit for a few practicing French knots and bullion stitches for embroidery

However on the upside, we did take a bike ride (perfect weather *now*, and the last of it for the summer) and have a date night Saturday. Even got some cleaning done. Back to work today, maybe some sewing time this week!

    Watson, gorgeous flying geese!
Great job on finishing quilting goals, everyone.
I'm using some left over blocks from a quilt I made last year to make pillowcases. My younger daughter has the quilt, so these cases will go to her.

I got a top sandwiched and stipple quilted this weekend. It's for a friend in my quilting group. She will put on the binding. Then I finished another 2 for an older lady in our group who can no longer quilt, but she loves to piece tops! We can hardly keep up with her.

I also finished this blankie for my Granddaughter Millie. Her first birthday is coming up this Friday, so I'll have this plus other goodies for her gift.

Your "blankie" is gorgeous! Great work on that.

I finished stitching my scrap buster and pieced a backing but had to clean house as I have company Tues...and then Wed.. and again Thurs... but got all my housework accomplished and have the table set so grabbed a little pile of Quilter's Candy I had won at a retreat a few years back... I have picked up this little pile of 2 1/2" squares and moved them too many times.... today they got sewn into a place mat which I will donate at some point.

Lets see if this works. I cleaned the kitchen floor and then had a baste-a-thon with 3 projects; Peacock churn dash for friends with 2 little girls, jelly race a gift for friend of friend who is pregnant, and the woodland critters will be a gift for my nephew.

I was able to baste my quilt this afternoon. Looking forward to quilting it.
