I'll be in Abilene and Sweetwater TX the next few days. Are there any "must see" quilt shops in the area? I've googled and found a few, but wanted to check with you all to see if there are some great ones that I have to visit.
Thanks

We have a real nice quilt shop in Clyde, just 12 miles east of Abilene. Feather Star , has a lot of charm, on Oak Street. The quilt shop on N. 6th in Abilene has nice fabric but the owner can seem unfriendly but she is just different.
If you want to drive a little futher south Winters has a really nice one.
Let know which you you have looked up because most have closed.
Bring cool clothing temps here are 100 and up every day and very dry.

Well, I don't know about Sweetwater or Abiline, but Midland is just 3 hours west (on I20.) We have a "nice" LQS. The Quilting Patch. Here's a link to their website. http://www.quiltingpatchtx.com/ I don't know if you have that kind of time or not.

How funny, I just went to google to check exactly which stores I've found and this thread is one of the results. up.
I've found Patchwork Garden at 3301 S 14th St, Abilene
And there's a Hobby Lobby too, we don't have any in my area. But that's about it. I was going to ask when I checked into my hotel.

Quilt Across Texas is in September. Is that the one you got the newsletter about?
My region has 14 shops in the hop - hard to get that many in on weekends - especially with my daughter and husband's brithdays getting in the way!

saw were you are from Midland. I have a Niece and Nephew at Midland. Had a brother and sister-in-law there but both died this year. DSIL in January and DB in February. I was down at niece's first part of May and I came home with 70 lbs of fabric from DSIL home. She was a quilter. Us quilters just love material.
