Ours used to have decent fabric. it was a small selection, but good.

They did a major overhaul. switched the store around and the crafts/fabric section is much larger. A lot more fabric. A lot of coordinating fabrics as well, but they are thin. They used to have the same fabrics as hancocks. Not anymore.
I have not bought fabric there in about 4 months, I bought 2 coordinating fabrics. washed them, but just didn't like how they came out the wash.

My Walmart had a decent sized fabric dept, but it was cut in half a few months ago and most of the fabric is now of very poor quality. Almost no threads, seam binding, or other notions.

Our store cut back, but still has a good selection of good fabric.

The store here is getting it's fabric department set up now. The fabric seems to be the same fabrics that they had before closing it down. They aren't ready to sell yet, still setting up, but it makes a lot of people happy in our area because of cheaper prices. Not top line fabric that is for sure but then a lot of people can't afford to pay top line prices either.

LUCKY YOU!!! I wish we would get our fabric back. I spoke with our new manager about it, he said he would see what he could do. He stated that the last two stores he was in had bolt fabric and they did o.k. with their sales. We will just have to wait and see.Keep your fingers crossed.

At the risk of sounding like I am a complainer... we just got fabric back at our WalMart and while the quality is not that of a quilt shop (which we do not have locally anyway)I get as much as I can there because it is what I can afford. I can't afford $12+ fabric on my income. And throughout history beautiful quilts have been made from what people could reuse and a few special fabrics if they could afford to purchase it. We do have a JoAnne's here but I only buy fabric there if I can use a coupon and make that the largest amount I can afford because they can only be used for one cut of fabric. Yay for WalMart bringing back affordable fabric!
