Default Walking Foot

Hi All - I've been dying for a walking foot for my Brother VX1435 machine (it's a basic machine) and can't seem to find one that fits! They all have that fork looking thing that hooks over the screw for the needle, but when I pick one up that "supposed" to work, it doesn't fit over that screw. A lot of Brother models I see have a space between the screw head and the needle... holder... thing (super technical), but on my machine model it butts right up against it with no room to spare.

Anyone have any insight or suggestions?? Thanks

Have you tried the SA107, maybe take the machine in to the dealer to see if they will let you try the foot on before you purchase. I do see what you mean about the needle bar. I would email tech support as well telling them your problem.

It does a better job for machine quilting than using a standard foot.

I'm not sure I'm understanding your description correctly, so please forgive me if my answer is inappropriate... I have a very basic Brother machine. The screw head butts right up against the needle holder thing, too... but it unscrews. Then I put the walking foot on and screw it back in, and it holds it in there. According to this page on the Brother website, the same walking foot (SA-107) fits your machine:

I was able to find my walking foot on Amazon.

Oh, and the walking foot made a HUGE difference! An unbelievable difference, actually. I now consider this to be a must-have accessory. (I'm a newbie, too, so learning as I go.)
