Question walking foot

I just purchased a walking foot for my high shank vintage Pfaff from an online dealer, and when I recieved it (totally excited!) I noticed that there are no "built in" feed dogs on this walking foot. Is this normal for older walking feet? or did I jst recieve a cheap knock off of some sort? Thanks!

Do you mean there are no 'teeth' on the walking foot ? Mine doesn't have any - just a smooth foot. Works marvelously though.

I have walking feet for both Bernina and Viking. Neither of them have "teeth" on the walking foot. It should, however, have two sets of fingers and some type of lever that fits over the screw for your needle. Then as you stitch one set of fingers will be down and when you take another stitch the other set of fingers will be down.

Could you have an "even feed foot" and the regular walking foot confused?

I have a Bernina 1001 machine and bought a universal walking foot. I needed the adapter for my machine to use it. Do you think I should have bought the original walking foot? I just thought it was too expensive...but as they say...you only get what you pay for.
