I shop at WalMart a lot -- groceries, Health & Beauty Aids, etc. Our local store just brought back fabrics a few months ago. And, they have some really beautiful fabrics. In fact, I saw some "copied" fabric at another business (won't name them) that was similar to some at WalMart, but it sure wasn't as good a quality as what was at WalMart. I think you have to "feel" your fabric and be satisfied on that score when you buy it. I recently bought fabric for a quilt (over a period of time) for a very large Log Cabin Quilt. Every piece of that fabric came from WalMart, and every piece was just as good as or superior to JoAnn's, and every piece of it was about half the price ofthe same fabric at JoAnn's. In this economic climate we find ourselves in, you buy what you can afford. It's not being "cheap" to shop for price, it's being smart. I would never buy "prepackaged" fabric. If you can't get your hands on it, you don't know whether it's really good fabric or a piece of junk! This quilt I bought fabric for, has thus far cost me $300+ in fabric, none of it being cheap. If JoAnn's is sellingthe same fabric as WalMart at twice what WalMart sells it for, somebody is really making a fortune! I am not intending to criticize anyone or any retailer. It's just my pocket thta determines what I can or cannot buy, as long as the quality is high! Opinions are like noses, everybody has one! IMHO!
