I have been Quilting for 10 years and I still refer to this book when I have a question. It's awesome!!

I like Fons & Porter's "Quilters Complete Guide" too... Also any of Eleanor Burns' books are great - her instructions are illustrated and really clearly written. "E is for Elementary" is a good one - by Eleanor Burns.

    Welcome.

If you have access to a library, maybe you could check out a few books before you commit to buying one.

MaryMo mentioned getting a book from the library. That's what I recommend. You can check out a bunch of books then decide which ones you'd like to buy. Also, look into the used books at Amazon. I've gotten several used books at reasonable prices and in very good condition. It's a great and inexpensive way to build a quilter's library of your own.

They really do have a book called The Quilter's Bible.

I have several "quilt bibles", but the one I always go to first (and ususally the only one I go to) when I have a question is "Your First Quilt Book....or it should be".

Fons & Porter all the way...take it out of the library first.
