I would not use two layers of W&N in a baby quilt. W&N has a stiffer drape than other battings to begin with, and 2 layers in a small quilt like that would be far too stiff for my taste.

My choice would probably be Hobbs 80/20, although I have heard good things about Quilter's Dream poly. I wouldn't use 2 layers of anything, though. What you really want in a child's quilt, other than warmth, is softness.

Thank you Prism99 for the recommendation. That's why I love this board so much. I've never tried Hobbs 80/20 and everyone on the board uses it. I think I will price it this weekend and give it a try. Thank you!

Learned so much from y'all about W&W as well - THANK YOU!

i'm not sure i would use 2 layers of w&n....i would think it would be way too heavy and warm to be used on a baby...Just my opinion....

i used two layers of W&W in my first grandson's quilt-it is too stiff to really use as a cover. My daughter has used it as a floor blanket for all three of her boys.
