I have been ordering fabric online for the last 5 years and have never encountered a problem before. However, last month I ordered fabric that was discontinued from various shops (probably about 8 different shops) in order to get the yardage I wanted in the various coordinating fabrics. I piled the fabric on my table as it came in and never got around to folding it for my stash until about a month later.

Lo and behold one of the fabrics (1 yard) was shorted - instead of being 42 inches wide someone has cut the length the entire yardage so my width was only 30 inches. Once I checked the receipt against my credit card I threw them away. I have no way of telling which quilt shop did this.

LESSON - Inspect and measure your fabric as soon as you get it.

don't you just went to throw something when you go to use your fabric and it's not what you paid for. I have learn that 1/4yd is not alway a 1/4yd. and that small of anount you can not just make it work.

Perhaps it would pay to order in inches if 'they' can read.

I have ordered fabric from Board members and have always had good luck with it. I'm sorry that you got shorted. Just makes you want to holler.

Can you check it against your e-mail confirmation? Just a thought. That is a new one.

Wow... sorry to hear that. Do you need to make up the yardage for your project? Maybe one of us can help by donating the yardage to you, that you need?

Want to post/tell us what fabric/colorway you need more of?

If I have it (and I have about 3 pantries full of materials...lol), I'll be happy to send it to you for the cost of postage...

    blessings,

Kwendt - thanks for your gracious offer. I should be ok on the amount of fabric that I have.
