I'm going back to the Midwest for my husband's family reunion. Part of the negotiation was stopping at quilt stores along the way. We're landing in Chicago and driving to the UP (Marquette, Michigan) next week. Please provide some of your favorite local quilt stores. Thanks in advance.

There is an be absolutely awesome quilt shop, if you will be traveling on US 23 north, just north of AuGres I think. It is called either BayView or BaySide quilting. I've seen the sign for years, and finally stopped in just a month or so ago. Wound up spending several hours, and WAY too much money. The shop is not really well represented by their sign - ignore that and stop in if you are in the area. You won't be sorry.

Sadly, there are no quilt shops in Milwaukee nor in north or south suburbs. I don't live there but visit often (1/2 hour away). I find that so hard to believe for a major city.

So don't plan on stopping in Milwaukee.
