I'm not sure what the question is either, but I do like the #2 layout much better than the others.

I think it is an exquisite quilt. Lovely colors, interesting blocks and a great layout with basket weave. It keeps the eyes entertained!

Since most of your borders are the same color, I don't think it will make much difference, visually, when it is all quilted. Basket weave will reduce and bulk and having to match seams.
