You could hang it either way. I rather it the second way.

I like the idea of two hanging sleeves and changing it around-it would certainly create conversations. I have gone back and forth as I looked it after the comments of others. It is a lovely piece and there are reasons for an art point of view to do it either way. I vote for both!

Darker on the top for me, too.

I agree with the others that said Darker on the bottom.

Smile Love it!

They are so beautiful - but I thought that if you saw them more like what the finished project would look like it might help, so I copied your pic, cleaned up the "tails" and have reposted them here both ways - personally, before the borders I preferred the darker colors up but now, with the borders, I really like the colors flowing down, like warm, sweet chocolate. Hope this helps.

Wow, Daisy, you are good! Your touched up pictures look exactly like what the top looks like now, with the last border on it. I will sandwich and quilt it today.

I am still leaning towards the dark on bottom, but I honestly think it looks good both ways. With the dark on top, parts of the quilt sort of glow. But with the dark on bottom, it sort of looks more balanced to me, probably because of the borders I choose.

Thanks for the extra effort you took for me. And thanks, everyone, for your help.

Dina

Beautiful wall hanging. I like DJ's idea about putting a sleeve on both sides. Then you can hang either way.

This is really beautiful and of course either way is awesome. I think it is truly what you like best, but since you asked for input I am with those who like the dark on the top.
