I have a New Home treadle that I know nothing about as I have never used one, is there a website somewhere that explains bobbins, tension and such? TIA Dee

Billy (Lostin51) is the expert on old machines. Check out the Vintage Machine Shop in the virtual section of this board for tons of good info.

There's also Treadle On, both the website with a ton of helpful info, and an email list. It's all here: http://www.treadleon.net/

If you Google "treadle sewing machine information" you will find lots of sites. Treadle On is the first one that comes up!

Tensioning is the same as non-treadle machines. A few of the older machines (both treadle and non-treadle) have different style bobbins or shuttles; there are websites that explain those too.
