NO Blasting here! My Mother says the same thing. I truely wish we could helpother countries but we do tend to forget our own children and families around our own areas.
The blanket looks sooo nice! Does not look like a cheater but either way there is a lot of hard work in it. I had chills when I read the story, it's wonderful there are men like Tim still around, I wish we had more like him! Ha! In my area anyway! Ha! (Can you tell I'm single!! Ha! )
You done a great thing Debbie!!

I'm the one who benefited from this. I feel so good about doing this, but the only reason I posted about it was to kind of bring attention to the fact that we do have kids that go hungry in this country unless someone else helps. I know the elderly need help too, but the kids are the ones this charity is about.

Great Idea for you and the end result. My quilt guild gives part of our opportunity quilt to charity. A couple of years ago the charity was BackPacks for Kids. Kids that come from families that are at risk for not having enought to eat in the eveings and weekends are sent home with backpacks full of ready to eat healthy food items. They return the backpacks empty and they are reused for them again. We were all really pleased with that years choice of our charity.

Congrats to you and winner of quilt. How very sad that we have children, and even adults, in this rich country that do not have food to eat...........yet there is so much wasted in grocery stores, restaurants, etc., and people, at least here in my world, are always donating to our local food pantry for distribution.........
