Wedding quilt for granddaughter

I have finally decided that I will make a Slanted Stars quilt for our granddaughter's wedding quilt. I plan to make 6 1/2 inch with white/light color central part and scrappy stars. My question is about the scrappy star part. In sorting through my scraps (no, they aren't organized - darn!) I am coming up with an awful lot of pretty dark scraps. I am wondering whether that would make the quilt too dark. Perhaps I should stick with light to medium scraps? Or should I just use whatever comes to hand the way I usually do when making a scrap quilt? Should be a simple decision but I seem paralyzed by indecision at this point. Help?

Darker/Med scraps will make the stars pop out more on a lighter background. This could be stunning! I guess it depends on what look you are going for :D:D:D

I agree. The sharp contrast will really make this quilt one she will love for many years.
