Default wedding ring template/pattern HELP!

I am wanting to make the double wedding ring pattern. I have the creative grids weding ring template but, I am very confused about the directions. I thought I just had to cut around the template but someone told me I had to paper piece it. Can someone please explain the directions I need to follow. Thank you I greatly apreciate all advice including how to sew curves.

I bought mine so long ago that I don't remember who made them. How many pieces did you get when you purchased the templates??? I can at least remember 4 pieces, two for making the arch, one for the center of the two arch and one for the background. If you were to PP the arch, I would assume that the PP template would be included. If I was to make one again, I would create a PP template because then your arches would be perfect and be sewn much faster.

Here's a video. Almost half an hour long... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c0pjTVmoz8U Looks like the first 9 minutes are how to use the template with paper piecing, This segment is followed by instructions on how to use the template without paper piecing.

I'm working on a Double Wedding Ring quilt (took a class) and would never finish it without the classes. I am a very experienced quilter, but I have met my nemesis. It will be beautiful but is very difficult. The instructions are very confusing. Anyway my instruction book--By Sharlene Jorgenson--came with 8 templates. I am on the home stretch with only one class left, but there is a very specific order to sewing the parts. Actually, if gets easier as you go along, but I can never remember the order to put it together.

Try looking into the Quilt Smart Double Wedding Ring pattern. I haven't used it but they teach it at our local quilt shop and everyone seemed to love the method. I believe it to be a lot faster than using templates.

To answer your question about sewing curves...what I do is take a glue stick and glue my pieces together before sewing. Then I use my purple thang to ease the extra fabric around the curve (the ruffles). It's really not that hard.

I bought the Rings that Bind book and templates from Phillips Fiber. No curved piecing. Easy and quick, looks great. I'll never make one the "old" way again. There is a you tube video on this by Kaye Wood.
