Default Wedding table toppers!

For my daughter's wedding in 6 weeks, we are scallop cutting edges on 1 1/4 yd cuts of purple and blue batiks to go on top of hemmed white wideback. Our hemming is very basic--we are squaring the wideback into 90" x 90" using the long arm to baste. This is my daugther's introduction to my long arm--she had been out of the house long before I bought it and though she sews and quilts, she was somewhat intimated and very worn out when we finish the first 7 of 17!

Once the wedding takes place,my plan is to use the purple and blue batik (along with some cream batik) to make a storm at sea quilt for their wedding gift (or maybe 1st anniversary!)

Quiltingshorttimer- You know what they say about great minds! I made table runners in dark green batik for my son and DDIL's wedding in Nov. 2012. I'm just completing a lap quilt for their bedroom with a Bargello center and several borders using the dark green, other greens and blues and off white. I'm using machine embroidery for their names, dates etc and also appliquéing my favorite picture of them during their first dance in a centered rectangle on the back. Looking forward to seeing your storm at sea, it will be gorgeous in those colors!

That is great planning on your part. Just be aware that the pattern Storm at Sea can have some tricky places where so many seams converge!! Sounds like perfect colors for that quilt.
