Just a tip that might help your achin' back--If you cut on a table that has metal legs, consider bed risers or pieces of pvc pipe to raise the table to a more comfortable height. Also, the quilt police do NOT swoop in if you sit and cut!

You could also match up two rectangles, sew, cut in half and much up when they are sewn and turn to make squares.

A Take 5 Quilt is always nice and easy - uses squares and rectangles. Also Yellow Brick Road which is a brick pattern. Have fun with all these great colors!

Oh hey, that's really simple but probably perfect for these scraps! I bet I could also cut them in half on the diagonal, since they make perfect 8-1/2" squares sewn together, and that would be pretty striking.

*rubs hands together* You guys have given me so many good directions. I'm getting all my sewing done during lunch at work recently, so it's somewhat limiting, but I also have room for the design wall in my office. And Miss Anise the Featherweight is perfectly portable! Hopefully I'll have the first top from these completed today (minus borders).

You can use the rectangles to make a quilt in strips with sashing around them. Cut some in half or thirds and sash and then join them into rows, either horizontal or vertical.

I'm trying to visualize this but I'm having a little bit of trouble. Do you happen to have a link to any examples of this style?
