Default A weird event in my sewing room

I have been making these wallhangings with the German Shorthaired Pointer applique. Number 5 is in the process of stitching the binding to the back and number 6 still needs its binding. I was down to just a large scrap of the fabric that I used for the body of the dog. Just large enough to make 4 or 5 more dogs. I took that scrap to several LQSs and was told it was very old and not available. It did have the name in the selvedge so I did several internet searches including the FabShopHop search that is sent to all the online sellers...no response. So I bought some other fabrics to audition.

Tonight I moved just one piece of fabric and under the scrap I was carrying around was nearly a yard of the fabric I have been trying to find. Very strange - I was sure I was working with the only piece of that fabric that I had. I'm very sure that I only bought one piece of that fabric...did it multiply in the dark???

Now I'm ready to do more which is good as my club will be using 3 of these for the highest "trophies" for the highest awards at our specialty show in 2013.

Sometime, long ago, you were guided to buy that second piece and stash it away, for now. Awesome!

Someone/something wanted you to continue making these beautiful wallhangings!

That is wonderful. I always say there is a reason for these things. The quilt hangings you are making are beautiful! My brothers favorite dog and he hunted with them for many years.

My quilting studio seems like the Twilight Zone at times, too. I just don't look that gift horse in the mouth and consider it divine intervention!

My breed is the Pharaoh Hound, so I am always on the lookout for any fabirc with an Egyptain theme to make up into quilts or bags or tablerunners, etc. for our National Specialities. I think I have every piece ever printed and then I go on Ebay and find something I've never seen before!! Nice GSP!!!!!!!!!!!

The wall hanging is great. One of the best looking dogs I've seen - and the colors/fabrics you used work very well together.
